A microwave oven that
cools??
(Reuters) - A 30 year old Argentinean engineer has
developed an impressive system for cooling. It may seem simple, but it's a
delicate piece of engineering. "Instantice"
is the name of this new product that promises to cool 1 liter
of boiling water and transform it into ice in less than… 3 seconds! Compared to
actual cooling speeds, this is like what speed of light is to snail's.

Its advanced features include super-fast cooling,
temperature monitoring with high level of accuracy, and a special effect called
"snow storm". DJs have shown interest in this effect and almost
10,000 "Instantice" have been preordered.
This gadget, when available in shops, will cost
USD1299. If you think you're overpaying this invention, you're wrong. A similar
device, called "Turbo Ice Maker" is half the price, but consumes ten
times the electricity and it’s five times slower.
It's the best complement for fridges, freezers and
kitchens. The TV advertisement shows a graceful lady who lives in
"Instantice" is
delivered with 16 interchangable cases of different colors, from a palette of 16,777,216.
Some futurists gurus, like Alvin Tofler,
think of this invention to be like the wheel: an event that may change the
course of history.
The
technology applied to the equipment is brand new. "We have restated the
principles of Thermodynamics from a new angle. Before that no one could ever
think of something similar as it was violating the most elemental physical
principles, but we demonstrated that it is possible, a real thing", said
the young inventor.
Do you want to buy it? Prepare for a 12-month-wait and
to an upfront payment of $1200. "We have produced no units up to now. We
need cash to start mass production so this is why we ask for such a big payment
in advance".
